Hi
I have been watching xailer with great interest over the last 12 or so
months.
I am very impressed with the amount of documentation you have created, it is
by far the most complete compared to other xharbour IDE's
Questions
1. I need to run xailer on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server. We have one
programmer that will be using it, but we have other apps we run in what we
call our "development session".
We do it this way so when we change staff nothing gets losts. It also
allows us to log in from customers sites and make changes and rebuild an
app, then upload back to customer.
My question I guess is will it run under 2003 Server on a terminal
server ok. I am guessing it may never have been tested, I just need to know
you will support it
2. Under 2003 there is a new thing called DEP (Data Execution Prevention) ,
do xailer apps follow the coding requirements for this new stuff (something
to do with the way the API callbacks are handled I think)
3. Does xailer have the OLE Server functionality that xhb has?
4. What sources don't we get it we buy, do you have a list of what we do and
don't get?
5. How far off are the englist docs now, there seems to be heaps, just
wondering what sort of percentage is still missing
6. I see you offer support until xailer is released, once it is released,
how long does the support last?
7. Does the licence allow for xailer to run on a desktop and a laptop, or is
it locked down to one machine?
8. Is there plans for an english news group?
9. The IDE help is disabled, is it not done yet?
You guys have done a great job.
Regards Nick

We'll try it ASAP. However, you could try it yourself; just install it and
register it as a demo.

Xailer is fully compliant with DEP.
> 3. Does xailer have the OLE Server functionality that xhb has?
Not for now, but we plan to do it in a near future.
> 4. What sources don't we get it we buy, do you have a list of what we do

Only a few modules. We haven't a detailed list yet, but it's only about a 5%
of the whole source code of the GUI lib.

English documentation is in exactly the same stage as the Spanish one. Both
are very advanced, and there is only about a 5% to do.
> 6. I see you offer support until xailer is released, once it is released,
> how long does the support last?
There is a year of support and update since then (professional edition
only).
> 7. Does the licence allow for xailer to run on a desktop and a laptop, or
> is it locked down to one machine?
You may install it in 3 computers simultaneously (i.e. desktop, laptop and
home).
> 8. Is there plans for an english news group?
There is already one English NG, but it's private for registered users who
have purchased the professional edition prerelease.
> 9. The IDE help is disabled, is it not done yet?
We are doing it just now. It'll be available in the next release.
> You guys have done a great job.
Thanks again.
