Multiple edit in DBFBrowse
Multiple edit in DBFBrowse
Hi all!
I have an oDBFBrowse with 4 columns. The columns have the following
:nEditType:
1 - beGET, 2 - beGET, 3 - beNONE, 4 - beGET. I call oDBFBrowse:Edit() to do
multiple edit of all columns.
When I am at the column 2 and press Tab or Enter to skip to the next
editable column (column 4), the cursor does not skip.
Is this correct? How to workaround this?
Regards, Oleg

Oleg,
Is not correct. Is column 4 completely visible? Check it please. If it is,
please tell us wich Xailer sample may be used to test the problem. TIA.

Oleg,
I can't confirm it. I tried it with the BrwEdit-sample by disableing the
third column. It works perfectly. The cursor jumps over the third column to
the fourth oGridEdit as it should.

Multiple edit in DBFBrowse
Ignacio, Ingo!
I solve my problem, it seems that it was my fault.
It is strange enough that with oBrw:Edit I can edit not all but only visible
columns. For example if I have 5 columns, 3 of them are visible, and third
column's nEditType is beNONE,
then editing process is stopped at second column. But if a very small part
(several pixels) of fourth column is visible, the editing is not stopped.
Is it possible to enhance TBrowse:Edit/TBrowse:Append to edit all columns
(not only visible)?
Regards, Oleg

Multiple edit in DBFBrowse
Oleg,
It could be possible to do it, but I do not like it too much since the only
way to do it is forzing the visibility of the column which receives focus,
that can be fine in some circunstances, like in Excel files, but is not used
oftenly in management applications. BTW this enhancement requieres a lot of
work.
So, I can say that in the short term we will not include that enhancement.
Sorry.
