[Ann] xHarbour Language Reference Guide v1.1 released

Mensaje por Patrick Mast »

Dear xHarbour Friend,
The new and updated version of the xHarbour Language Reference Guide is
ready! ;-)
After months of concentrated hard work, we are very proud to announce
the availability of the second version of "The xHarbour Language
Reference Guide".
Version 1.1 of the "The xHarbour Language Reference Guide" is now
available as a full featured electronic edition. It includes a well
structured "Table of Contents", a comprehensive "Index" and "Full Text
Search" capabilities, plus a powerful and user friendly, and extensive
"Cross Reference Link System". A "What's new in version 1.1" section
will guide your through all the new and updated documentation in this
new version. The electronic edition is now available in both PDF and
CHM file formats. The PDF file can be viewed, or printed (1 personal
copy of just over 2227 single sided letter size pages) on any platform
supporting PDF files. The CHM file is a Microsoft Compressed HTML Help
format with strong "Index", and "Full Text Search" capabilities. Both
file formats are downloadable as standard ZIP files or Windows
installer files.
As of TODAY, this new xHarbour Language Reference Guide version will be
included with all new xHarbour Builder purchases, and will also be
available free of charge to all xHarbour.com customers with an active
Update and Service Subscription plan. This new version is a FREE update
for all who purchased version 1.0 of the xHarbour Language Reference
Guide. Simply go to the xHarbour Language Reference Guide download page
to start downloading version 1.1 now.
If you did not purchased the xHarbour Language Reference Guide yet,
version 1.1 is now available to the general xHarbour community, on sale
for just $49.00 USD.
You may get your copy now (instant online delivery system) at
http://www.xHarbour.com/OrderDocs . Your download will start as soon as
you complete your order. We are confident you'll find our new online
purchase and delivery system friendly, sensible, fast, and fun to use.
An Evaluation Edition is also available as a free download from
http://www.xHarbour.com/Docs . The Evaluation Edition contains a small
subset all the topics documented, so as to demonstrate the quality and
details level of the book. The layout and structure of the Evaluation
Edition is otherwise identical to the full documentation.
Finally, a Online Edition of version 1.1 of the "The xHarbour Language
Reference Guide" is available on the xHDN pages at
http://www.xHarbour.com/xHDN . The Online Edition includes all
available topics but its usage is restricted to 10 minutes or 10
searches per day. xHarbour.com customers who purchased the xHarbour
Language Reference Guide or customers with an active Update & Service
Subscription have full and unrestricted access to the online "xHarbour
Language Reference Guide" at xHDN.
Since this book and the topics it covers are aggressively being
developed we'll appreciate any input you might have about any omission
or inaccuracy. This is an ongoing project and we'll be grateful for any
idea or suggestion you may have to help us improve the xHarbour
documentation or xHarbour itself.
Please note that xHarbour.com Inc. has spared no expense in producing
and publishing this new book. We have contracted an experienced and
well respected xBase author and developer (Hannes Ziegler) which has
to-date worked 20 months, full time job, to develop this book. This in
turn translated to an out of pocket investment of tens of thousands of
US dollars, not including indirect expenses. This investment exhausted
a huge portion of our monitory resources, and was a direct response to
the passionate input many of you have provided. Now we must ask that
you help us recover our huge investment by helping protect and enforce
our copyrights, and if at all possible please purchase your own
personal copy.
Thank you for you ongoing support.

Sincerely,
Patrick Mast,

xHarbour team,
These really are great docs.
Lots of new stuff documented, very clear content & layout.
Real world, helpful examples on the TIp stuff I have looked at.
A shortcut to the CHM version is now on my taskbar, maybe I need that new
widescreen monitor so I can have the docs up all the time.
I hope xHarbour users can appreciate your investment in these & buy them at
the fair price .... a reasonable meal for 1 at the current $/£ rate.
Thank you very much, great help.
