Ingo,
please, be sure you are not mixing different Xailer version, that is, the
IDE from one version and the libraries from another. I'm almost sure that
this is the problem.

Jose,
I completely deinstalled xailer and eliminated the residual directories
I completlely eliminated BCC 5.5.1
I downloaded Xailer17 and installed it
I downloaded xharboursetup.exe
I downloaded freecommandLinetools.exe from Borland
I installed all new
I sent the email asking for the keycode
I started Xailer without the keycode and recompiled the sample project and
started it
the same error
I restored my old xailer.cfg (with the keycode for Enterprise) and started
Xailer again and recompiled the sample and ran it
the same error
Im waiting now for the XPRO keycode to start it again.
I don't know what I can do more.

Confirming that tstFolder program run as expected :
I can see a MsgAlertBox with "File Not Found" message, before form
creation. No GPF error occured.
Programming Environment:
Vista Ultimate with all updates until today.
Xailer 1.7.6 with the Latest xHarbour Compiler

I'm almost sure that there is something incorrect in your Xailer
installation (i.e. mix of different versions). However, please, send me your
exe to check it.

when compiling and running the project at the first time after opening the IDE this message is shown in the debugger window:
#1: HEAP[mwin.exe]:
#2: Heap block at 0027C650 modified at 0027C662 past requested size of a
#3: HEAP[mwin.exe]:
#4: Invalid Address specified to RtlFreeHeap( 00230000, 0027C658 )
Will this problem be solved with 1.8 too?

Forgot my last message. There is no need to test anything else. Finally, I've found it!
The problem is that there are some internal structures that are initialized when the first form is created. In your sample, they are not initialized, so it depends on the previous memory contents to cause and error or silenty ignore those values.
Now, I've forzed them to be initialized are program startup. It involves several modules, so it'll be available in the upcoming version 1.8. In the meantime, please, just create an empty form, just like in the sample I've sent to you a while ago, and call it like:
TForm1():New( Application ):End()
