Well if it is a holiday in Spain, I think you should do that!

I can compile in demo mode from my laptop and use it in the IDE which will rescue my day.

I can confirm that I have used the .....Harbour32Setup4.exe file.

My plan at some stage will be to Uninstall Xailer on my PC ...

Thank you both for helping with this.

I have installed Xailer5 on my laptop as a Demo and I am doing better for now. I am happy to have the program run under the IDE at the moment as its me that needs to use it to get a job done for a Customer.

Deleted hb32 in \xailer5

Removed all reference to mingw in Environment vars

Install from your link

Xailer Tools paths look OK.

Environment paths .... new c:\xailer5\hb32\comp\mingw\bin at top ... as it should be, probably.

Is this something to do with how Xailer has implemented the service code ?

There are some other 3rd party Task Schedulers that do run as services and can launch exes plus of course Windows own Task Scheduler.

I have a Xailer TaskScheduler program that is very successful and I am trying converting it to run as a service.

All is going well and it appears to run as a service 95% OK, except for my Timer function when it wants to actually execute the task .... calling my RunNow() method.

Basically I have a timer that works.

1. I did not have a CREATE() method on my 'created in code' Timer

2. I am not sure what oPARENT to use for the Timer? Sender does not work, I have left it blank and it works.

I am happy with this for the moment and I can continue with this.

I have it working and I think I know the problem....

My problem was that from within the service it appears that certain things cant be done including interacting with the screen ....

LogDisplay() and Beep() certainly dont appear to work.

Thank you for your comprehensive reply.

Its the second example, the images are high resolution photos in .JPG files. I need to add the text to them and then re-save them at the same resolution.

I would like to take some existing JPEG image files and overlay the filename and a 'Title' as text on them.

Hi, I am wanting to use a Folder Explorer TreeView to embed in a form .... very similar to the one in Xailer Dbf Explorer.

I am trying to not use a Folder Dialog or an ActiveX.

I have looked at the xailer\samples but cannot see anything similar to use as a start.

Sounds like a move to CardBox class may be the way to go with Xailer 5.

My request is more control the alignment of the text in the TLabelEx control to improve the appearance.

For the titles I might like a CENTER option, standard would be LEFT ...

Why does my redefined WMKeyDown method not override the TBevel or TStdControl own WMKeydown method particularly as I do NOT call ::Super:WMKeyDown() in my own method.

My ScreenPrompt class inherited from TLabelEx and my PromptBar class inherited from TBevel are working well and have mouse & keyboard 'action key' character support.

Thank you both .... trapping ALT + is very interesting to me at the moment.

Next, I am trying to trap the 'cursor' keys UpArrow, DownArrow etc.

I dont see them in the Form KeyDown method, so I am hoping there is somewhere else?
